Flash Game Tip #14

A good way to get the player excited about the game is to include a short animated intro. Start the game experience in some cinematic way; there is nothing more disappointing than clicking the play button and being dumped straight into the main menu. Keep it under 20 seconds and remember to include a skip button.

Flash Game Tip #85

Start the game with a decent loading screen. This is the player’s first impression, so make sure it looks cool and reflects the feel of the game.

Add user-generated content, such as a level editor, which players can share with their friends. This ensures an endless supply of new gameplay.
