Flash Game Tip #8

Start with a small idea, with a small concept, and spend more time polishing your game. A polished small game is a LOT better than an ugly big game, especially on the Internet where you have about 30 seconds to make a good impression.

Flash Game Tip #29

If you can, try to limit the dimension of your game below 640x480. Some portals don’t accept games that are larger than this.

Watch the size of your game as your make it. The smaller the better. At Berzerk Studio, our current target is only 5 MB.

Flash Game Tip #38

To add replay value, think about adding achievements and scores, if possible, since they are generally easy to make. Some sponsors might even ask you to add such features in your game, so it’s better to add them first to get more attention when you sell it.

Flash Game Tip #50

Start with a small idea, with a small concept, and spend more time polishing your game. A polished small game is a LOT better than an ugly big game, especially on the internet where you have about 30 seconds to make a good impression.

Flash Game Tip #72

Make your game easy to download by adding a “Host this game” button somewhere in the main menu. For a long term gain, try to always point to the same url for each game you make, so when you release a new game, people will also see your past games. At Berzerk Studio, we currently use Flashgamedistribution.com to present all our games.
