Flash Game Tip #46

It’s important to quickly test an idea, get it played, and get feedback. If it’s not fun enough, alter the gameplay while you still can, before it becomes too difficult to change. Game code gets very complex, so get the fundamentals right first.

Flash Game Tip #93

Keep it simple. Your gameplay, your rendering methods, your UI, even data manipulation can benefit from asking, “How can I simplify this?” It’s very easy to make something a lot more complicated and difficult than necessary.

Flash Game Tip #112

Plan out your game as much as possible to avoid wasted coding time; poor decisions and mistakes could easily be avoided by spending a little time thinking.

Flash Game Tip #115

Don’t be lazy or make excuses. Tweak the graphics, the gameplay, and the UI until it looks and feels great. Often this just takes incremental revisions till you get it right.
