Flash Game Tip #9

Your ideas don’t have to be 100% original. Human knowledge is based on building on the work of people who went before. Game design is no different. Games like Angry Birds, and even our own Bloons Tower Defense series, are all based off of previously invented ideas and game mechanics. Yet, all are hugely successful games.

Flash Game Tip #35

It can be easy to know your own game too well. It is vital that you remember that your players will be seeing it for the first time. Have others test your game early and often. In the Flash gaming world, non-gamers are best to test.

Flash Game Tip #96

Don’t overwhelm new players of your game. Introduce new features gradually during gameplay, in a way that makes the player feel like they have earned it themselves.
